#206 SR400Custom Report

This is a full custom molding of an SR400 base brought in by the owner. The style is based on the ○ “№187  SR500” and ○ “№59  SR400“, which the owner liked very much. After several meetings with the owner, we decided to create a rare SR base in the good old 70’s NOR-CAL (Northern California) style. Originally, it was a vehicle purchased at another store, but the owner requested us to fix the dangerous troubles that occurred every time he rode, and to push and return in the middle of the night when it stopped on the way.

The main order was to fully repair the poorly maintained parts and to rebuild the dangerous custom parts that were too sweet to drive normally. In addition, we reinforced the main frame tube that was greatly dented to forcibly mount the previous gasoline tank, and we made a molding frame with sheet metal welding, bond work (putty) for the gasoline tank and main frame. We also rebuilt the seat under frame where the positions of the left and right rear shocks were greatly distorted, and repainted the frame that was painted with poor quality acrylic paint.

As a result, we finished a full custom vehicle with a menu such as remaking all exterior parts. The bent front fork was discarded and the frame was molded into a long fork, and a Frisco fender with the strength to withstand two people was installed by modifying the K model strut. We incorporated it into the SR400 body while strongly imagining the 70’s Northern California.

This time, we asked “PHK in Kyoto“, who has always been taking care of us, for the molding work and paint work.

We had them spray the design of the masking designed by the 2%ER representative himself on the solid white base with orange and purple gradation and four colors of bubbles.

Instead of the initial simple menu, it became a menu that exceeded the owner’s budget, such as unexpected frame modifications and all paint. Although it is a custom that could not be polished or wheel exchanged, it is a vehicle that is well balanced and finished as a NOR-CAL style that 2%ER thinks that you can enjoy with peace of mind.
