“A Hardtail SR400 custom made to the order of ‘A Badass Chopper’.

Not only a custom, but also an engine O/H, this was a vehicle brought in by a privateer customer who enjoys it himself. This is a vehicle that was requested to be brought in to make it even easier to ride and even cooler than the limits of his own work. At the time of bringing in, the original gas tank and handle were left as they were, and a hardtail kit was incorporated into the rear to change to a simple rigid frame, and the front fork was extended.

The rear fender, sissy bar, muffler, etc. were made one-off to form a chopper-style silhouette, and it was finished with a paint job by the atmospheric ‘BACON‘.

As the owner travels a considerable distance on a single tour, and is tall at 180cm, the position was carefully decided. The hardtail kit is a 13cm extended long type, so it’s not cramped and has a relaxed seat position, and the pullback handle helps support the upper body weight during acceleration with a pillion pad.

Furthermore, we decided to use a mid-forward control kit that moves the step position 120mm forward, which is recommended for taller people, so that each joint bends nicely and becomes a chopper-like riding posture.

The seat spring is determined by the owner’s weight, and compared to the hard short suspension at the time of bringing in, it is finished with a much easier position and cushioning.
