#276 SR400Custom Report
● A full custom SR400 was ordered by a Tokyo owner, asking for a show-level finish equivalent to “No. 209 SR400“. We proceeded with meetings using LINE photos and videos, ZOOM, etc., and when the main skeleton such as the hardtail frame, gas tank, fork extension, and front wheel 21-inch conversion was completed, the owner came to the store and decided on the step and seat position, handlebar height and angle, etc. that fit the owner’s physique while actually straddling it.
The exterior paint was requested from “Kyoto P,H,K“, and the frame was painted with a metal paint called IZ Metal from ROHAN. The gas tank and rear fender were finished with chrome plating and then faded.
The front and rear wheel hubs are changed to chrome-plated rims with a metallic powder coat, front 21, rear wide 18 inches. The engine was overhauled around the waist and clutch, and then finished cleanly with cerakote, powder coat, and buffing.
The shift is a jockey shift that makes operating the bike fun, a step that works well with the owner’s physique even without a rear shock, a 2-inch spring mount seat with good cushioning, and a handlebar in a natural reach position for less fatigue. The change to the FCR carburetor has made the ride several times more enjoyable than the original carburetor. It’s a full custom.
