#118 SR500Custom Report

This is a vintage racer style made based on SR500.

Without deciding on a particular motif, I mixed styles such as bobber/tracker/sand racer

and built it to have a balanced, solid atmosphere like a racer.

It is finished with a large gas tank and a wide seat with long springs for the owner who travels long distances.

 

Instead of choosing large block pattern tires, I selected tires that have a good atmosphere and can handle roads,

and city riding (somehow) for the sake of running.

It’s a 2%ER vintage style that can run comfortably without any negative breakdowns.

 

The hardtail of the rear section is a bolt-on specification.

If you’re worried about vehicle inspection, you can easily pass by just replacing the swing arm.

Front Wheel

◯ A front hub that reuses the small diameter drum of the old Yamaha. Converted to a 19-inch H-type aluminum rim. The tire is ALLSTATE Dirtman. I aimed for a dirt-like atmosphere.

〇A straight pipe with a left outlet was made one-off using a convenient production kit for the root mouthpiece.


Step

〇This step kit is essential for 2%ER’s custom, which makes your riding posture cool and significantly reduces fatigue.


Carburetor

◯ The carburetor is FCR. It’s incredibly fast with an engine souped up to 525cc.

〇 The slow SR’s performance will drastically change. It’s a high-performance carburetor with sharp and smooth acceleration and good startability.

〇 It’s a dedicated adapter to firmly fix the FCR carburetor to the SR400/500.

〇 It’s a set of an aluminum funnel replacing the red plastic one, and a stainless steel debris prevention net.


Seat

◯ A simple vertical tuck roll seat. It is comfortable even for long distances with our mid-high step and 3-inch seat spring combination.

Electrical

SR400/500 Custom Electrical Plate #2%er Original #SR400/500

〇All electrical components except the CDI are consolidated at the rear of the engine crankcase. It is easily accessible from either side of the vehicle and has good maintainability. There is no need to reassemble even if you return to the swing arm specification during vehicle inspection.

IC blinker relay wide range specification

〇A wide-range turn signal relay that can be used without difficulty even with LED turn signals. It supports 1 to 150 watts and can also be used as a repro for the original relay.

Battery Lesser

〇This is a battery-less kit that we manufacture in Japan.

Custom ignition switch bolt-on kit General-purpose

〇The main key, which is originally attached to the top bridge, is installed on the lower right of the seat for easy operation even while riding.


Gasoline Tank Installation

◯ The gas tank is a narrowed version of the Royal Enfield’s, installed using a special stainless welding rod, which prevents rust and ensures long-term use.

〇 Drill a hole in the gasoline tank body, insert and weld. It’s non-penetrating, so it won’t leak. Used on the front side.

〇 Enlarge the hole diameter, change to a rubber mount specification, and hold the non-penetrating nut.

〇 Used for the rear installation of the gas tank. This also enlarges the hole diameter and uses it with a rubber mount.

Engine Area

〇This is a filter kit needed when removing the original air cleaner.


Drive System

〇A durable replacement sprocket made of steel.

    Hardtail

    “Rigid Line” Bolt-On Hardtail Kit』(5cm Long)

    〇As the name suggests, it’s a detachable hardtail kit using bolts/nuts. It remodels the seat rail of the original frame to a rigid line. You can revert to a swing arm/rear shock specification during vehicle inspection or when changing styles.


    Rear Wheel

    ◯2.50−18 One size up in width. Gives a racer atmosphere.

    〇A drilled design torque rod to avoid interference with the wider tires.


    Rear Fender

    ◯The rear fender is a repurposed spare tire cover for a 20’s Ford. It’s a classic style for 60’s choppers and bobbers. This SR500 is mounted in a way that gives a sense of gap and lightness. The fender has been carefully repaired and used with solid reinforcement on the back. The fender brace is made in a rigid style. The aging paint is by ‘BACON‘.
