#192 CB400FOUR (NC36)Custom Report

A cafe racer based on the revival Honda CB400FOUR (water-cooled NC36). Among them, we added a 2%ER style arrangement to the new category called “Brat Cafe,” which is showing signs of popularity as a cafe style evolving mainly in Europe, and we made it almost entirely at the owner’s discretion.
It is a vehicle finished in a modern, simple, and unique style with classical fat tires that have become a staple in street style and horizontal exterior parts.

We made one-off productions of exterior parts such as the gas tank/seat/seat cowl, rebuilt the frame under the seat after the gas tank with thick steel pipes horizontally, and selected extremely small lights such as turn signals and tail lights so as not to break the simple style.

Custom List

FrontHandlebars, F forks, headlights, etc.

We’ve used voluminous tires as an accent against the compact exterior.

The front fender and headlight stay are one-off items made of stainless steel.

We’ve installed ultra-small ‘X Mini LED Turn Signals‘ next to the radiator, used a European style LED for the headlight, and a ‘DAYTONA Volona‘ speedometer.

The 60’s Tommaselli style separate handle is made by CHUCKBOX Ace Bar II, and the handle area is neatly finished. We’ve kept it simple with an ‘Amal type throttle holder, general purpose (for 7/8″)‘, a ‘Barrel Grip Black 22.2mm 7/8inch for Motorcycle‘, and a choke lever from an old car. We’ve concentrated the switches next to the top bridge for the separate handle. The brake master is made by NISSIN.

CenterTank, oil tank, seat, step, muffler etc.

The universal rounded gasoline tank has been completely remodeled to fit the shape of the CB400FOUR base plate and finished with chrome plating.

The subframe under the seat was cut once and newly made with a thick pipe to be horizontal with the bottom of the gasoline tank (Click here for the process of making the subframe under the seat).

The small seat cowl is made of two iron plates and is also finished with chrome plating. The electrical components originally located under the seat are mounted in the seat cowl and under the swing arm. All fuse holders can be accessed without removing parts, ensuring good maintainability.

The muffler is a full exhaust with a stainless megaphone x aluminum machined end on a steel manifold. Everything was made from the root mouthpiece.

The simple backstep made of pipe material is also a one-off item. It was made entirely of stainless steel.

【Other Center/Body Around Use Parts】

Weld Tabs/Nuts” are used extensively for mounting gas tanks, mufflers, and electrical components on the lower part of the swing arm

  • RearFenders, rear shocks, swingarms, etc.

The rear tire has been changed to a voluminous tire, similar to the front. The strength member of the swing arm that comes into contact during assembly has been processed.

At the rear end of the frame, the shear shock mount, we used the “X Mini LED Turn Signal” about the size of a pinky tip, and on the left side of the vehicle, we also used the extremely small “X Mini Diamond Tail Light”.

The rear fender is a one-off stainless steel.

    【Other Rear Area Use Parts】

Weld Tabs/Nuts” are used extensively for mounting rear fenders, turn signals, and electrical components inside the seat cowl.
